The Venom is the sinister spaceship of a Sith bounty hunter.
About this creation
The Sith Venom was built mainly as a diversion from the typical gray, utilitarian designs that dominate my gallery. This ship features a sleek overall shape combined with sharp angles to produce a mean profile. I kept the greebling to a minimum and focused more on shape than detail, although I'd say this ship does offer good but subtle details.
It is not a stealthy ship like the Infiltrator or even Slave I. Although the ship supports one pilot, and perhaps one or two live captives, it is oversized for intimidation and, with it's massive engines, speed! Overall, I like how this ship turned out. The pictures could be a little better but my camera seems to have a tough time with red.

The overall shape of the Venom draws on several inspirations, some deliberate and some apparently sub-conscious. For instance, the engines are bit of anime splashed with Sebulba's pod racer (particularly the split-X). The front was semi-inspired by "Event Horizon."

This head-on view shows the unique angle of the canted engines, which at first glance in the previous view seem to be at 45 degrees to the body. It's actually closer to 50 degress or so (I'm really not sure). I tried the 45 degree angle using click hinges but it looked too neat. So I used sloped bricks with studs on one side (typically used for anchoring plate roofs) to get a sharper angle.

The rear of the ship offers the most complexity and greebles.

For some reason, the intake strakes in this view make me think of Saruman's tower from LOTR.

A low angle view with the landing gear up. This view accents the low-slung ventral engines, which remind me a bit of the Rockwell B-1 bomber.

A view of the rear hatch opened and ramp extended. The Venom features a holding cell for live captives.

The front window removed to view the pilot's seat. The venom doesn't boast much of an interior. It was a compromise for a sleeker shape instead of a detailed interior.

I had seen this terrific MOC on Brickshelf and I wondered to myself if it could be found here.
Great job. Your use of some unorthodox shapes really brings out a type of fear in the ship. Love it. |

Wow. Very cool.
I agree with Rags naRock, it does look like something the Imperial Guards might use, being red and everything. It has a certain...identity to it...as many of the bounty hunter's ships do. |

Wow. Being all red is enough for 5 stars! It looks like it could be a personal ship for one of Palpatine's elite guards. My favorite part is the vents on the engine intakes. Very cool. |

Quite intimidating. The whole thing looks like an exotic close combat weapon of some sort. And the landing gear is the tightest retractable set I've seen in a good long while. |
