A Blacktron themed star destroyer done in microscale.
About this creation
Thank you for checking out my creation! I designed this ship when I was making a series of different themed spaceships done in micro and mini scale. This Blacktron star destroyer was 1 of 3 microscale capital ships I made. The other 2 were Exploriens and 3vil (or Space Skulls) themed. My goal was to try to design something distinctly Blacktron looking in form and function, not just color theme. To me, Blacktron represented a repressive alien race and so I kept that in mind when designing this.
I began with the only two true Blacktron pieces, the corner wall panel and the wedge slope with the Blacktron logo. From there I first built the propulsion system and worked my way forward. Along the way I built in the heavy weaponry I imagine a Blacktron destroyer would have: multidirectional main guns, missile banks, torpedos, plasma cannon, etc. Overwall I liked what I came up with and feel it fits in with the original theme.
Initially I was going to place a conning tower and bridge in the rear over the engines, as I have with other ships. However, it didn't seem to flow with the design, especially with the forward quarter saucer section containing crew quarters. So I moved the bridge to the front.
This aft view shows off the angled missile banks and top and bottom main guns. There are 4 missile banks coming off the main fusalage, angled about 53 degrees from the centerline to provide a wider firing field. Each bank contains 6 missile tubes. The main guns above and below complete the weapon array.
The destroyer's primary weapon is the ventral heavy plasma cannon. A single shot can destroy similar classed vessels and significantly damage the larger, heavier shielded supercarriers and battle stations.

"Repressive alien race"? That's just Space Police propaganda. The Blacktron are simply trying to defend their territory from being taken over by Futron colonialists. That's my interpretation, at least. |

This is (stumbling over appropriate words to describe the awesome ness achieved here)...wow. The great use of pieces, like the front of the ship's slope piece, is creative, and the alien-ness is spectacular. There are a lot of missles, and the cannon looks fearsome (I like the round things behind it) and powerful. Your sudden burst of amazing creations leaves me flabbergasted. |
