I think everybody knows the Lego Set 4993 Cool Convertible. Well, on my AFOL community forum we have this contest going on, and one of the tasks was to do a miniature of a Lego set of our choice... I decided to do the miniature of the 4993 and here it is! Presented to you all :)
About this creation
These pictures have a small diference from the first one shown.
The first one was digitaly altered because I do not have those round pieces in dark red... That (if I had the pieces) was my real intention with this car.
The pictures from here on are the ones with the inicial version of the MOC, without the improvement or digital changes.
From here on, you will see my atempts at recreating the cool convertible in a smaller scale.
I tried to maintain all the functions that the original had. Opening hood(I believe this is the english word from that front part of the car...) with engine inside, opening doors and that thing that manages him to "convert" itself (sorry again, I do not know the word for this... :$).
The downsizing of the set, made it almoust near minifig scale wich is excelent! :D
And in the end you have a photo of him, next to the original 4993.

This is amazing!! From a far distance, the two cars look almost EXACTLY alike - great job! I also built a car that has a convertible roof, and it is almost the same scale as yours! |

It's just... so very cool! I really loved seeing it in first person. That gave me the chance to analyze all the details, especially with the set so close by. you sure have some mad skills! |
