About this creation
When I first got set 7764 Cargo Plane, I modified it with some side-firing guns to resemble the cargo-plane gunships which the U.S. has used since the Vietnam war. So yesterday I was experimenting with some turbofan engines for an upcoming VTOL MOC and decided to remove the airliner's propeller engines and attach the jet engines to the plane instead. It's nowhere near my usual quality, but I thought it might be fun to share it with you guys.
Exploded view of the jet turbine. This should give you a good idea of how it was constructed. This is a neat set-mod, and though it takes a lot of parts I would strongly advise performing it.
In case you still can't figure out the jet engine, here's a closeup of the center section. The section was built using bricks and hinge plates; a brick with studs on all 4 sides was placed in the center to help the model hold its shape.
Here are some older shots of the gunship's weapons. Each side has two heavy guns in the rear cargo doors and one light gun in the front passenger door. It used to have wing attachment points for bombs and missiles, but as I built more military aircraft my supply of bombs and missiles started running short and I just ended up taking the pylons off.
