Sky Galleon
A steampunkish aerial galleon.
About this creation

The Sky Galleon plies the airways between the floating islands. While it is capable of flotation under low power it is not capable of naval manouvering. This particular vessel is primarily a solid cargo vessel and is capable of landing without a the presence of a docking gantry.

A demonstration of the Vertically Enabled Technical Harness, a self-movtivated personal harness used primarily for repair and rescue.

The officers are keeping the skyship on course while the Captain is busy negotiating downstairs. The motivator above the Observatoria deck is used primarily for docking adjustments when it is impractical to fire up the main motivator array.

The chef spends all day preparing meals for the large crew. The underfloor storage area holds enough food for short journeys. Even a ship the size of the Sky Galleon is rarely away from a port for long.

Master Gunner Fawkes demonstrates the latest in anti-pirate weaponry. The Sky Galleon has no mounted weaponry though it does sport gun ports and can carry cannon if requisitioned by the military or when carrying a precious cargo.

The Electro-dynamic catalysers keep ship power running. Mounted in the hull between the primary lift enablers it is unlikely that the catalysers would take damage in a skirmish before the ship had suffered far more serious damage. Though the catalyser does generate and store electricity, it's primary purpose is to generate a field that enables the ships motivator systems to produce current from the atmosphere.

Here we see the captain entertaining an Admiral of the Imperial Navy. Contract negotiation is an important part of the captains job.

A small away vessel for collecting supplies and passengers when the Sky Galleon cannot dock.

Quoting Mike Bernd Incredible! For such a massive creation, you sure packed in a lot of details. Love the interior, especially the engine room and galley. The detachable sky-boat is a great touch. Excellent work!
Thanks, I like to make my MOC's 'playable' even if this thing's a little big for swooshing ;) The kitchen floor was removable during construction (also the catalyser) to reveal an underfloor storage area but unfortunately it just became impractical with the fireplace and shelves.
