Regular Polygons


A regular polygon is a polygon which is
equiangular (all angles are congruent)
and equilateral (all sides have the same length).

equilateral triangle -- square

pentagon -- hexagon

heptagon -- octagon




To make all of the polygons be about the same height took a little math:
Where a is the length of a side of the regular polygon.
And n is the number of sides of the regular polygon.

Then the height h of the regular polygon is:
if n is even h = a cot(pi/n)
else n is odd h = a (csc(pi/n) + cot(pi/n))/2

I made a spreadsheet and figured out that lengths of 16, 14, 9, 8, 7, and 6 studs worked best.
