Originally built from spare parts, the ToolBot is a mobile toolbox and helping hand all in one unit.
About this creation
Drakken Federation Technical Report
Drakken Federation Bot Development Department
Bot Designation: UR-01
Bot Name: ToolBot
The original prototype for the UtilityBot was a unit cobbled together from spare parts by one of the Department heads who liked to tinker on his own vehicles and craft. When a request came through for a unit that his bot's specifications fit, he submitted it, thinking he would get a nice bonus and some royalties out of it. Unfortunately, he didn't read the contract he signed when he got hired. The intellectual property clause meant that all he got was a bit of recognition, and a T-shirt that said "I designed a bot and all I got was this lousy T-shirt."
Update - January 8, 2006: Due to some classification restructuring, the UtilityBot has been renamed to ToolBot and had its designation changed from RR-01 to UR-01. Thank you for your patience in this time of confusion.

The right side is dominated by an industrial strength fire extinguisher. It was deemed an important safety precaution, especially for those bots working with the larger, more volatile ships of the Federation.

A claw mounted on the left side of the bot provides a third hand in situations where two hands just aren't enough. This alone almost makes it worthwhile for every handyfig, repairfig, and Mechanik.

Also on the left side is a stereoscopic camera for recording any goof, slipups, or outright sabotage by the minifigs working with the bot. A minifig interested can also get a HUD visor that will receive the information that the bot is recording and direct it in some simpler repairs from afar.

The ToolBot has a tool rack mounted to its back. It was determined that having the capability for one's tools to come to you and follow you around was a neccessity for efficient repair and maintenance work.
