SFJ-1 (Switchwing Fighter Jet)
A folding wing plane, complete with rocket tubes, "chinguns" and flares!
About this creation
A switchwing Fighter Jet -- the wings fold into the body! It might be small, but it's got a heavy arsenal. Mainly designed for airstrikes, it can devastate a building or other ground targets no problem, and can hold it's own against other planes. It's usually deployed in squads of three for requested airstrikes, although the pilots are trained in single combat.
----------------------------------
An overall smallish plane, but still doesn't go wanting on the firepower. I'm currently working on a hangar, although it might get scrapped. Enjoy, and leave a comment!

A good view of the rear of the aircraft, especially the engine. Also visible are the fins, and, of course, the overall shape of the plane.

The side of the plane -- another good overall shape pic, wings unfolded. The other wing is nearly invisible, since the body is obscuring the view. I considered having a long flap that would fold over the wing cavity, bat that just made it bulkier, and I liked the shape as it was.

The top of the plane, wings unfolded. The poor pilot is stuck in his tiny cockpit . . . I thought of making it a UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) and putting a computer-type thing in there, (the size was just right in comparison with some of my other creations) but didn’t think it would be as cool. So the pilot was left in his plastic bubble . . .

The underside, with the wings unfolded. The gray cylinders in the center are the (currently retracted) rocket tubes. The longer, thinner ones to the side are the autocannons. They can be used as a main weapon, as they fire large rounds – they’re even capable of piercing some kinds of tank armor!

More underside, this time only of the weapons. The transparent piece at the bottom of the rocket tubes is just part of the stand I used to hold it up.

> Another picture of the rear, but this time the wings are unfolded. The little symbol I adorn all of my creations is also on this one. It’s the black 2x2 tile with that orange design.

A (rather bad) picture of the rocket tubes, but they’re extended into firing positions. The SFJ carries only two types of rockets, but plenty of both: High explosive rockets, and also hydrogen rockets, a new concept.

The not-quite concealed “chingun”. The chingun only fires in three second bursts, but those three seconds can use up a LOT of bullets.

The little grey flaps open to reveal . . . the flare emitters! Also visible are the aforementioned symbols.

Head-on. DUCK!

Well, that's the latest from me -- thanks for reading -- Now please leave a comment!!

Great job! I love all of the hidden weaponry and stealthy stuff. (b.t.w. I made a plane with folding wings too!)

Whoa, very well built. When the wings are folded, you hardly know they're there. Excellent work!
