Copti transport shuttle
The shuttle craft of the Copti people of the desert planet Oasis.
About this creation

Okay, I'll admit, using black in with the brown and tan kind-of makes this MOC a little hodge podge in the color department. But, Lego only makes the bottom saucer pieces in three colors. The front half of the ship, topside, uses those quarter slope panels found in abundance with the now defunct 2008 Mission to Mars series. They match up with the old quarter saucer panels perfectly. IN FACT, the entire reason I did this MOC was to point out to other Lego enthusiasts how NOT useless those Mars pieces are.

This is a transport/cargo shuttle, so it had a pretty no-thrills design to it. It does follow the same design ethic as the Copti Corvette, which was the first MOC in this skein. I was about halfway through a much larger Copti cargo vessel, but got bored with it and moved on to another MOC. Here we see a Copti soldier exiting the craft.

The cockpit is big and roomy with an un-necessary amount of control panels and slope pieces, with passenger benches behind the two pilot seats. There is an open door with a ladder leading to the topside docking port, and two bunk rooms with bunk beds to accomodate four persons, then a very large and long cargo hold running half the length of the ship that can be used for cargo or more people. Oh, and there is a butt-ugly navigational deflector array on the front of the ship. Can you spot it?

If I have the interest to rebuild this, the first thing to go will be the navigational deflector. Grills should be used for greebling, not for a primary feature, I know this now. I also noticed while typing this that this thing reminds me of a horseshoe crab. So much for that Cardassian design motif.

Turret guns at the 'waist' of the ship, and yes, those old Lego Star Wars Hoth-speeder gun parts on the front-top of the ship are used as forward laser cannons. I know, I failed by doing that. If I had to rate this MOC, I would rate it as --> close, but not quite there. But it has an interesting shape, yes?

Yep, definitely one of your more interestingly shaped cargo shuttles out there on the 'net.

Is there landing gear? Why did you have to go and ask that question when we were just about finished here? No, there is a large substructure with pads that the shuttle rests on, quite comfortably. Do Star Trek shuttles have landing gear? Nooooo. So don't ask those kinds of questions.
