Little Black Thing - Reproduction of the Little Blue Thing (I know not a very inventive name, oh well :) - Started by playing around with the Mahri face shield and a Hockey Player helmut.
About this creation

Easy to build! If YOU would like to make one, take a look at the "LBT-Build" instructions on Brickshelf: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=355691

wow, thanks a lot for that flood of comments on my creations! I appreciate them a lot :) as for this guys, I really like the inventive use of the parts for the head...I didn't even know them before ^^ And it's interesting to see how you take your photos, actually I mostly use a white background...is it easier with a coloured one? I fear that the green for example would reflect in the MOC somehow...especially when you have a bley MOC...

Quoting King Geartech Guugshantinian Monarch NIce job. What program did you use for the green screen. And can it be used with different screens.
Hey, thanks for the feedback. I used Photoshop to extract the LBLKT from the green construction paper. Is that what you mean?

Quoting Zane aka skip2mylu thanks for your inspiration on the basic structure for these guys, altho im haveing huge probs with the hip joints being to loose. guys topple over very ez. i made the red and white bot first as i ordered an entire set of new parts from bricklink for about 15$ for the black one minus a few parts i had of my own! great stuf only wounder if it could be made into a lego factory set...
Hey the trick in the hip and the shoulders is to use the OLD style 1st gen black technic pins. They have greater friction than the newer ones. OR, you could use blue friction half axle pins. But you'll need to switch one of the 1x2 technic bricks to an axle grip one. (That's what I call the 1x2 technic bricks with the cross axle accept) That should solve your problem. Good Luck!

Thanks, I know, this was so I could use the helmut and mask for something. Hey, check your MOC replies, some of them are doubled on some people's pages. just fyi. BTW< I want to know what you think about the bigger 3 foot tall Mechs. Curious about your impressions. Thanks!

Quoting Patrick Chambers Nice job! You did a good job of making it look humanoid. The helmet looks great! Thanks for commenting on my Peregrine too! Peace - Patrick
Many thanks, I know it is not really fancy or has trick ideas or advanced joints, but I like how it all works together. Np about the Peregrine. I thought it was cool!

Quoting Firas Abu-Jaber Ok, lets see what I like about this creation; well first of all I like how you displayed the idea of a simple and cool background that I myself use usually; a lot of people don't know how to make a cool backdrops to their creations, 2nd thing the quality of the pictures and the photos itself, also I like how you linked this MOC to the instructions page on Brickshelf, and finally I like the creation itself, very creative, and great techniques specially at the head, so all in all I like every thing if you prefer a short cut comment ;) keep on the great work >>> peace.. Fofo :)
Many thanks. This was a small build, kinda fast, kinda fun. I had to make use of the lone black hockey helmut. So this is the result. Since the size is small, I had to get the best shots I could. The challenge was the color. You know how that goes with Black Lego.

Quoting Michael Rutherford I have to agree with Steve: It's good to see the hockey helmet in use. You should make a car for this guy. Your study of the humanoid form robot is pretty close to culmination by now...so maybe you could build an accessory for this guy? A motorcycle? Or...a slot machine? Or a giant Vespa? A Vespa with an ejection seat, and an eight track player!
I knew there was a reason for buying those Hockey canisters. If I can only find a trick use for that little spring return part. http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/x928cx1 Funny you should mention your suggestion. Like a mini mech piloting a macro mech. I was thinking about this the other day too!

Quoting Steve Puckett Hi Eric, been a fan for a long time. I really love the head design, the hockey helmets are really under utilized in builds, great to see them here. Steve
Hey Steve, that is nice of you to say. Hey you have some of these parts for sure. Try to make one if you can, maybe just the parts for the head even. So you see how they look together in person. That would be cool! Again, it is always a treat to see what you come up with. Thanks!

Quoting The Eturior Nice! Again, the torso is the best! I love those legs!
Since the ankle only has side to side and spin, but no forward reverse bend, it always wants to stand up. Did you see in the instructions how the chest is built?

I see what you mean. Maybe because I took most of the pictures where I held the camera at the height of the head it may seem a little bigger? Idk...
