Xarkon Hugin (Very) Light Fighter
Xarkon's smallest aerospace fighter

The Hugin is possibly the smallest spacecraft in existence. It is barely large enough to have engines, weapons, and a life-support system. The fighter is fast and agile, but it has no shields and no missile payloads. In space battles, it relies on speed, maneuverability, sensor and missile lock jammers, and extreme numbers to take down its foes.

I kept the Hugin's design as small and compact as possible for one main reason: I wanted to make a lot of them. Someday I plan to mass-produce these little guys and then put them all lined up in landing position (like this) inside the hangar of a huge LEGO capital ship.

I showed this ship off on my forums a while ago, for a contest there. I won the contest, but I told the people there that this might not be the final version of the ship. However, after trying very hard to make the ship completely studless but never being satisfied with it, I decided that this really would be the final version. Oh well.

The Hugin's engine array is powerful for a ship of its size. However, it does not have interstellar drive engines, so it must be carried from system to system by a transport of some kind.

As you can no doubt see, the Hugin is armed with only two weapons on each wing: a machine gun and a laser gun. The pilot has to be constantly firing at enemy fighters whenever he gets them in his sights in order for these small weapons to have any effect. But when a swarm of Hugin attacks a larger fighter, the constant barrage of firepower can take the enemy down surprisingly quickly.

Can you find the Crown of Xarkon? Yeah, it's really easy. It usually is.

Here is the bottom of the ship. It should help you see how most everything was attached.

I've always liked small, compact well put together fighters, I made one myself, but the dark red pieces on the back are green because I don't have them in dark red.

Great job on the Hugin. Im not to good with air crafts so, do you think you can e-mail me some pics of stuff like the Hugin or Nidhogg? If you can, thanks. If you do on my homepage I'll say that I was inspired from Saber-Scorpion.

Good but again NO MORE STUDLESS OR ALMOST STUDLESS MODELS!It takes away the LEGO look. Still a very nice fighter and looks very manuverable. I like it a lot. Keep it up Scorp BUT NO MORE STUDLESS MODELS!!

For something so small, I am actually quite fond of it. It matches your theme real well, and it looks like it can easily be mass produced. It also looks very fast/manuvarable. I just love the overall shape/design. Just because something is small doesnt mean a lot of thought wasn't put into it. Good work.

Your right it is small...but that makes it hard to hit too. Great ship! (if its big enough to be called that)

Hey, Scorp, Stormzarel here. The Hugin looks nice, though my only problem with it is that the length of it doesn't counterbalance the width of it, making it look a bit akward. Still, it looks pretty cool, and it reminds me of those Interceptors from Starcraft (Y'know, those ones on the Protoss Carrier?). Anyway, you did a good job.

w00t! I love it! My only complaint is that it looks a bit too small, actualy, REALLY small. But then again, it IS a very light fighter. ;)
