About this creation
This is my almost-to-scale minifig model of one of my all-time favorite ships. Taking over a year to design and build, it was constructed in 2003, taking a week of build time while I was "employment-ally challenged." She's a little long, by about 10 or so studs, but overall I achieved what I was going for. In case you noticed, I'm slow at getting things on the interweb for public consumption, so hang in there, I might have a surprise or two in store. More to come...

this is my first version of this ship, i plan a rebuild in a more military paint scheme in the future. i will include some of the current detail, revamp others, and throw in some new stuff that i didn't get around to doing in this one.

the cargo ramp and crew access hatch are fully functional.

someday, a scale apc with roll up in there...

   closer look at the ramps.

the weapon crossover pods unfold, but as of yet, they cannot support their own weight. maybe in version 2...

this is one of my favorite views. it really captures the unique shape of the ship. marking the control surfaces and other "no step" areas really sets it off.

the vtol nozzles on the aft sides are geared together so that they all turn together at the same rate.

i tried to keep the proportions the same as the ones found in the technical drawings i used as a reference.

i'd like to include better detail in the aft landing gear bay and create better engine nozzles.

i'd also like to make the tail boom open up and have the little ecm pod come out on it's tether.

missle "wings" opened into strike mode.

flight mode, landing gear retracted. they manually fold up, but i'd like to gear them so they all work at the same time.

   flight mode

getting the cockpit to look right was on of the biggest challenges. i wanted to keep the crew postions the same as in the movie, and in the end, this was the compromise. not so much fine detail, but i can live with it.

   rear landing gear retracted

This is absolutley amazing. I completley love the whole design, and I think you nailed the shape to a T. Also having the whole thing be geared would be awesome. And I hope you can get the missle pods 2 support their own weight, id love to see a pic of them retracted.

Very, Very nice. I usally like to give feedback telling how to make a moc better, but for yours, I don't think there is a way to make it any better. Great Moc!
