I built this when I was about 14, somewhat following the 1982 instructions of the Classic Space set "Mobile Rocket Transport"
About this creation
Just found out on Bricklink, this was called "Mobile Rocket Transport", though my version differs quite a bit.
This Model is actually a highly modified LEGO model made in back in 1982. It was a model my brother had, and wouldn't you known it, one day(in the 90s) I found the instructions to it. I was amazed at how cool it was, but there was things about it I didn't like, it was heavily space oriented, and some bits were dumb, so I built it following the directions to a certain point, then just did my own thing. I still have the instruction sheet which I will upload later.
Shown here is a LEGO BlackTron 2 figure(one of only 2 I have)this one came with a rocket pack. I put it here because I like the BlackTron stuff, and some of yall may not have ever seen them. Anyway back to the Transport, most of it is how LEGO made it, except for the blue and red pieces, the neon green antenaes, the missle and the launcher. Not much to really describe about it than that, other than it has working 8 wheel suspension (LEGO design), seating for driver/launch operator, no other onboard weapons and the missle itself is a Tactical 3 stage Nuclear Warhead Missle. Driver is a Blacktron 1 figure, 1 of only 3 I have.
These pics show how the simple, but effective suspension works.
Thanks, you have some awesome stuff too!!
I am glad people like what I had built so many years ago, its hard to believe how old my creations are, some are over 14 years old now, I never took any of them apart when I quit playing with them, I just put them up for storage like any other toy.
