The Lovecraft Building
An odd office building for Micropolis. Home to most of the secret occult organizations in the city.
About this creation

This was a rebuild of a previous module. I didn't even like it enough to put it up on MOCpages. It was dark blue and purple too. I just needed something to help fill up the case at the Mall of America LEGO store. TwinLUG had 4 square blocks of Micropolis in there last year. It was there for a while, then they took the case away when they remodeled.

I have no explanation for the building, other than it grew over 3 evenings. I was working with a limited number of different pieces in the dark blue and purple. I wanted it to be more weird and whacky than evil. I'd been watching a lot of The Addams Family this last week.

Here's the other version of the two buildings and there potential arrangement. This time with them facing each other. That's one of the cool things about modular building. They can be arranged so many ways. It's been a different city everytime we assembled it.

Really diggin all the micropolis buildings but this one stands out for its very distinct shape. I have never seen this color combination either.

Those colors, those curves... this is truly something unique. Fantastic work. By the way, I've got a project coming up that needs someone to pick up where I left off (and it involves the words "MOC" and "tag"). You interested? Send me an email if you are: aeylar@ucsc.edu

Very cool Garth. I love the color scheme. The dark blue and purple just really works well together. I also like the futuristic look of the building. Awesome!

Awesome design. Reminds me of something that would be in New Pork City from Mother 3.

Quoting Mark Kelso Frakkin AWESOME building, Garth!! Now I don't know if you're a Halo fan, or if you projectile vomit at the mention of the name...but I have to say, this reminds me of a Halo structure (the architecture, the colors, etc.). Not a bad thing in my book, just curious to know if that was your inspiration, or if it's just coincidence (or maybe I'm just smoking my paints too much again...which could be another possibility).
Never played it. Don't own a system. See a lot of Halo guys on MOCpages but don't really know anything much about the game. They were probably influenced by the same people I was. see ya. garth

Wacky, weird, and, of course, wonderful! It's not every day that I spy a purple and dark blue micro building; I've been in the mood for something like this all week. Lovely creation.
