Blacktron Aerial Reconnaissance
About this creation

It had to happen...Another Blacktron Moc!

After I built the Planetary Hauler, I knew I wanted an aerial vehicle. It had to be something unique, yet still have that '80's feel. So identified what could be used and I came up with a ship used for, as the name implies, aerial reconnaissance.

Design

Like I said, I wanted the design of the ship to blend in with the official Blacktron sets. With that in mind, I used pieces which were readily available in the '80's. Funny though, that I based the overall shape and size on another moc that was totally unrelated to this:)...(I will be posting it soon with a new series I'm developing;).

Overall, the ship is twin engines. Nothing big, it's not built for speed, rather for flight in the atmosphere, (or if brought by another ship, in space). The aft portion contains all the electronics and sensors and of the course the radar dish on top. The ship was also designed with versatility in mind. A transport or light cargo version can be easily adapted.

It seats two comfortably with the pilot in front, and the engineer in back. You'll notice that he/she has all the controls and screens right in front of him/her. I very much like transparent yellow parts so I just had put the panels under the windscreen...Use...Simply for visual observation.

Quoting Rowland Rose I'd say you achieved what you set out to do. This small ship looks like an official set. Great job, and I like the cockpit the most I think.

Quoting Crimso Giger Absolutely cool ! Your "purist" conception is really interesting. Great work, and I love the minifigs without helmets, it's so cute !
Thanks for the great comments! I like showing minifigures with their helmets off. I think that it brings more personality and story to the scene:)

Cool Blacktron ship. The wings seem a tiny bit too small to me, but it's still good. It definitely looks like it could be a set, so nice job with that.
