LegoŽ Light Rifle 42 (W-42)
A beautiful replica of a not so famous German rifle from World War 2. It shoots just as good as it looks!
About this creation
On the original model there wasn't a cocking bolt on there, so there is one now on the updates.

A nice picture showing the new stock and modified sight.

The new stock I ordered from LegoŽ. I am very happy with it's turnout.

The new stock again, note the nice curves on it.

The new sight, the only difference is the round bottom.

A real FG-42 iron sight. (Wikipedia)

An FG-42 2nd version. (www.gun-world.net)

The handle and trigger area.

A clip loaded.

An FG-42 with a scope. (home.quicknet.nl)

Other side, not much to see here.

The old Stock.

A side shot with a clip in.

Looking down the scope.

A rubber band on.

A rubber band on the front of the barrel. Warning:The front sight must be off when shooting rubber bands. If you have it on, the sight may fly off with the rubber bands!

The two parts used to put the bipod on.

The end of the barrel without the bipod. Note:The front sight has been replaced with a smooth 2x2 plate.

The scope on.

The front sight on with the bipod attached.

The front of the gun without the sight and with the bipod attached.

The bipod off with the nose piece.

The normal sight on.

A view of the front grip and barrel.

The front of the barrel with the sight and bipod on.

The clips can be taken out and put back in.

The two clips. The 10 round one on the left and the 20 round one on the right.

This project was based off the idea of a LegoŽ rubber band shooting German FG-42. I have used it in my favorite PS3 game called Call of Duty World at War, and its awesome. Not only that, but it is an odd weapon that never really worked. So I had to make one. I have done my best so far to make it as close to real life as possible with the capablity to shoot rubber bands. Although it's not life size, it looks the part. And for those of you who are really observant, the gun was based off of my LegoŽ Rubber Band Pistol 38 (W-38). This gun was used as the starting base to make it. If you want instructions on how to make it, just look at my mechanism instructions and build around it. I hope you like it and yes they did have bipods and scopes on them. All photos on this page belong to their respectfull owners, Thanks.

This gun was announced as the winner of Chris A's Assualt Rifle Contest in the Group Gun Smiths! Thanks to all who voted!

It's a great replica of an FG-42, but why is called "Lego Light Rifle 42 (W-42)" instead of "Lego FG-42"?

Yes, you would think it should be called an FG-42, but I normally don't give the real name to these guns. Coming up with the names is fun!

Quoting Tom Jongejans By the way, why wouldn't you try to make a British Sten MK3? Or a Sig Sauer P220?
Hmmm, I have been thinking about making a Sten, that maybe a future project of mine!
