lenny builds the roof.
About this creation
this is the preliminary end of part 1. The length is 61 studs exactly, and looks pretty good, IMHO.
So far I've done a pretty good job of giving my ship shape. This means that roofing is easy, just plop something on and greeble the hell out of it. or at least, that's what I did with the Duvernay.
how'd I do that? Using curved pieces (the paradisa windows) and angled walls (using pythogora's theorum, a2+b2=c2, or the 3-4-5 triangle). I know I'm going to slope down plates over the gunner area, and slope down plates over my missiles. this will also help to break up the squarish-ness.
But the best thing is that I get to look at how my vision has manefested itself. It is at this point that you can guess if it is going to be good or going to be bad.
I've still got detailing to go (which will be last), and the engine section. I'm also playing around to get an idea of what i want to do with the roof. the Duvernay was just flat, and I think I want to add something to this one, but what?
in my designs i played with the concept of a fin that would hold the main cannon, but i'm not so sure anymore.
