This was a contest entry in the first Joe Vig Contest at Lugnet's Vignette newgroup. It wasn't one of the winners, but it got an honorable mention.

This was my first official vignette (not counting a few space trophies I made for Brickfest 2004.) I had just seen Revenge of the Sith, and the images of the Jedi slaughter in the temple were still fresh in my mind. The contest, in its final hours, provided me an excuse to quickly build a small rendition of the scene.

I tried to make it work with just one column and keep it all in the 8x8 base, but it looked so much cooler with pillars on either side of the stairway. The pillars extend 2 studs out from the base, and the staircase extends 4 studs, just barely squeezing in under the limits of the contest.

Yes the 501st are in the movie... when Senator organa comes to see whats goin on at the temple , the 501st greet him and then get slaughtered by a young jedi!
