A 10-stud wide taxicab.
About this creation
This was something I put together for fun the other day. It's 10-stud wide and about 8.5 inches long.

I've always thought that the standard-issue Ford Crown Victoria NYC Taxicab was an insteresting design to model in LEGO, especially after building my small scale and very tiny scale taxi cabs.

Daylight shows the LEGO bricks' true yellow color, opposed to the other photos taken indoors that look more "taxicab yellow".

Here's an in-your face shot of the back of the cab. The Crown Vic's slanted taillights were tough to do.

You can also see a bit of the rear-mount stop lamp.

this was how I attached the tires so that I could create my own hubs.

The wheels are desinged to match taxi's wheels, which are mostly just black metal, with a small chrome center that covers the bolts.

The trunk is actually a little too long, and the nose is a little too short.

At these slanted angles, though, the incorrect length of the hood and trunk isn't as noticable. :) It's most noticable in the "main" picture up at the top of the page.

The C-pillar is a little strangly shaped; I would like to re-do it. It was hard, because the Crown Victoria's C pillar is rather thick and pretty steep, so it wasnt suited very well to many LEGO sloped bricks.

Here's a view from above. Getting the subtle tapering of the hood was pretty tricky, but I'm happy with how it came out. The roof is also sloped/tapered in a similar way, although you can't see it now that I added the rooftop advertisement.

Leather bench seat, with lumbar support. :)

   Taxi Cabrio? :)

Here is a picture of the inside, with the roof removed. There are 2 pedals on the floor, a steering wheel, and a "dividing wall" between the front and back sections. And I realized later that I forgot to add the fare meter! Duh!

Its supposed to look alot like a police car, its a crown victoria, for those who dont know, its the main vehicle of US police, and is also the main car of US taxi companies. Anyway, great work! Keep up the awesome work! -Mike Lucio

This is a very good creation,it looks alot like a real crown vic, and it would be a good idea for you to make an NYPD crown Vic. I think it would turn out good.
