He joined the Knights of the Broken Cross a year ago. Three month before he joined, he was almost killed by a large group of fiends and fell into a coma for two months. When he awoke, he realized he could not remember anything that happened before the attack. All he could remember was the attack, his name, and a few foggy bits and chips. Unsure of what to do next, and afraid of the world that he could no longer remember, he left his hometown of Tolemac and wandered the country. Eventually, he came across a tree with a hand shaped hollow and a strange insription on it:
My power great is sealed here.
Forged from music's sorrow
And shaped with the heart's tear.
Come the master on the 'morrow,
One whose memory has been shallowed.
And their land is no longer theirs.
Thy power is now hallowed,
And with thee my strength shall be paired.
Place thy hand in key's steeple,
Let my tune be heard unto all people.
He placed his hand in the hollow, and waited. The tree began to split, revealing the blade sealed within. When he then grasped the blade, the three pipes on it begun to spin rapidly. The pipes issued forth a song so eerie, he called the blade Haunting Melody. He heard a voice coming from his blade:
"I have been waiting a long time. My name has long since been lost in time. I am a Keyblade, a weapon of ancient power, and you are the one who was destined to wield me after I was formed." The song began to grow in intensity, and he remembered one portion of his past. He planned to join the Knights of the Broken Cross once he gained a weapon. Once he remembered this, the song faded away. He hefted his new Keyblade, and left to join the Knights.
The Haunting Melody is a Keyblade that is capable of playing songs through its sound pipes that can affect the tide of battle. The music can empower allies, cure disease, heal wounds, put people to sleep, and even paralyze attackers. Even so, Schlüssatt needs to use it as a sword when necessary, so he is a skilled swordfighter. His goal is to recover all of his memories.
