The 601st Legion falls under the command of the 101st Special Operations Corps [SOC] which has various specialized units to take on harsh climate operations or special duties. The 601st was born out of the 501st when their ranks were swollen with too many Clone Troopers.

Yes I see your point, but the 601st Legion is Blue like it's older brother the 501st Legion & the other units within the 601st Legion perform special duties, you can hardly have a camoflaged Snowtroopers or Desert Troopers running around with Blue on them.
