Orbital Trooper Drop Pod (OTDP) . Small pod used to drop soldiers into heavy anti-air areas. . A small individual pod (4x8x3). Useful for getting troops into an area with a lot of anti-air. Instead of the dropship getting hit and all the troopers killed, maybe a few are hit on the way down. Dropped from outside the atmosphere, the pod can reach really high speeds. Occasionally though, the pod can fail to slow down, impacting at high speed, which has earned it the name "Flying Coffin". The pod seperates and the cover is thrust off. You can see the weapons in the front of the pod, and the grenades in the spot below him. Another view. View of the trooper in his pod. The trooper needs to remove a small plate on his feet. The plate helps him use his legs to support himself, otherwise his feet wouldn't touch the ground and his hands will touch the sides. He's going to get his guns. His guns are ready. Now he needs his grenades. Fully armed and ready to kill. If needed, the front can also be used for a single man raft. The pod can survive a 7-8 ft drop onto carpeted surfaces. The pod lands rather strangely, if dropped at an angle it can jump out a foot or two and continue to bump off of objects, and is basically really unpredictable.
