GLOCK 17 RBG . a working glock 17, this is an RBG with a capacity of 6-7 RBs . i have beed thinking of building another handgun recently, and the glock 18 caught my eye. the problem was, there is really no point in making a full auto RBG unless you can slow the firing rate down enough that all your bullets dont whiz off in less than half a second. so, instead, i made the glock 17, which is (on the outside) identical to the glock 18, except for the fire selector. so, i set out to make the glock 17. glocks are very reliable, accurate, and safe pistols. they come in a range of sizes, magazine sizes, and calibres. they are most famous for their safety trigger and striker design, which works like a cross between a single and double action mechanism, also with the hammer concealed - when you pull back the slide (on a real one), the hammer is set to half cock. when you pull the trigger, the hammer is pulled back to full cock, then released, hitting the chambered round. this design means that real glocks have no manual safety catch, and so are quicker to deploy in a firefight, as there are no levers to be flicked before you can fire it. my glock is an RBG (rubber band gun), with a capacity of 6-7 RBs. this is not a lot for any gun, even a RB pistol, but then the glock is a very compact gun - compare it to, say, a beretta 92FS, and you will see that the whole gun is tiny in comparison. this means that to make the gun, you need a very small and compact mechanism. i used a spindle design, as i do with most handguns, but the spindle was only 3M long!! this allowed me to fit the mech in the gun, but it did mean that the capacity was drastically reduced. pics: the gun right side (note grey ejection port) left side trigger and trigger guard. this gun has a very short trigger pull, but it is under enough spring pressure that you wont set it off accidentally the grip. note the finger grooves loaded, 6 RBs the 3M RB spindle RBs hooked over the barrel at the front mech, trigger released mech, trigger pulled, spindle then rotated, firing nonexistant band mech detail, trigger released mech detail, trigger pulled looking down the sights comparison of mine to the real thing (note mine is loaded) thats it - tell me what you think!
