The Royal Funeral of Pharaoh Tunfetakhen . Now we take time to witness the royal burial of Pharaoh Tunfetakhen, King of Egypt. .
The mummy of Tunfetakhen, with his golden burial mask, is placed in the sarcophagus.
The priest, with a jackal head mask, recites ancient spells to protect him as he travels to the afterlife. He then places the book of spells on the mummy.
He places the Pharaoh's bronze khopesh, or sickle sword, on the mummy, for the Pharaoh to use as a weapon in the afterlife in case he needs it. Then he gives the funeral sermon.
The granite sarcophagus. Built long ago when Tunfetakhen first came to the throne. Well, actually, I built this thing three years ago, but it was recently modified to fit in the tomb.
