AR-59 Blowtorch . The Armenian Ar-59 (NATO reporting name Blowtorch) is the Result of the PAK DA 2 project. . The Armenian Ar-59 is a supersonic intercontinental strategic bomber jointly developed by Boeing, Tupolov, Sukhoi, and Mikion. It is a blended wing design. Due to the Armeniaís and the eastís lack of experience with flying wings and blended wing designs they called on Boeing to help develop the air frame. Itís two Kuznetsov NK-331 give it the ability to super cruise. Developed from the Russian Su-34 and the American X-48 it combines Eastern and Western design. Due to itís construction and design it has a very small stealth profile. Its acoustic signature is reduced due to advances in engine technology. The engines are mounted on top of the fuselage so the thermal image is drastically reduced. It also has 2D thrust vectoring making it very maneuverable for a large bomber. The Ar-59 entered service in early July 2035. Having entered service to late to see service in Iran it has yet to see combat. It has been used in reconnaissance roles over Turkmenistan and the black sea.
