Freelancer Ti'Laana -- "Memories of Darahna" . Freelancer Ti'Laana -- "Memories of Darahna"
There are not many freelancers operating in the human sectors of the galaxy, but of those the most peculiar is the young Mekmalahn female named, Ti'Laana. Her people and homeworld were conquered and enslaved by the Khulani. Before she too was enslaved, she stole an ARC Drive capable shuttle craft and fled for distant sectors. Eventually, she came to the Theta Epsilon sector, which was home to the human planet Gaia. On the ship yards of San Sterling, she was able to militarize her shuttle craft and take up the profession of being a Freelancer. Her ship may not have much cargo space or a very far range, but she has so far managed to make a living Freelancing between various human worlds. .
Before you ask, no there is no interior. I had planned to make one, but it was late at night and I just wanted to finish and go to bed. Anyway, I had planned to do the interior with the same method as I used on the Kaar Ker'margh transport. With this MOC, you will notice the entire thing is upside down.
So, we get some technic bricks and technic pins, and voila, I was going to build the interior right side up. I did not get to it, so the entirety of the MOC, aside from the studs on the side, is upside down. Doing the interior right side up would not have been hard, but another draw back was that there was very little interior space.
You will notice a view port in the tail of the ship, that was going to look into Ti'Laana's quarters. Rear viewports are all the style this fall.
The idea for the gun turrets comes from Space: Above and Beyond -- from the troop transport. The viewports for their gun turrets were very similar in design to this. I had already been using those windscreens as viewports, so here I just slapped on some guns and c'est si bon.
At first, I did not have any orange on this, but as the minifig is orange, it only made sense to have a little bit of detailing color. You might say this looks like a neimodian ship on steroids. I actually got the idea for this design from a screen shot from EVE Online. I do not play that game, but I have investigated the screen shots and there was a ship that inspired me; it just came out looking like something from Star Wars.
Here we see the hatch to the ship. I have wanted to use this boat hull for something spacey for some time, but the inspiration had just never hit me until now.
