Millennium Falcon-Star Wars . Han Solo's Famous Starship. Complete with interior and retractable boarding door. . The Millennium Falcon is arguably one of the most renowned Star Wars spacecraft. I remember when I first saw it in the movies back when I was a kid, it didn't seem very "cool" at the time. Let's be honest, at first glance its not much to look at. But like most Star Wars fans, after seeing the movie, you quickly fall in love. I attempted building the Millennium Falcon before, but didn't put much effort into my first attempt and it showed. This is my second execution at building Han Solo's Ship. I have to say this is a very difficult ship to build due to its round and domed natures. Building it/Design Let me first apologize for some colors being wrong. Most noticeable is the white circular gun-mount piece. Unfortunately I don't a have a grey one as I'd prefer. :( I built this entirely from my arsenal of legos, so none were ordered from bricklink for its creation. This was difficult since I have VERY FEW angled plates and even fewer grey ones. I had to built my design off of what pieces I had so in the end it didn't end up being the design I would have preferred to use, which would have been a 16-gon instead of a 12-gon. But you work with what you've got. This model took a lot of planning since in many cases it maxed out some of the piece types I had. I put a retractable boarding door with working pistons on the side just like the movie model. I tried to include several SNOT areas to bring the flow of the ship together better. Size Length: 14" Width (At widest point): 10 1/2" A general front view of the ship showing the quad laser cannon, dish, and damaged area of the ship. Front, of course. Back shot. Would've liked to have had enough transparent small bricks to cover the back, but I didn't, so I just used normal blue bricks. Technically I should've used white, since thats the color of the thrusters in the movie, but i figured you'd all recognize blue due to Lego's set influences. Right side. As you can see I ran out of light grey curved pieces and so for this side had to use dark grey giving it that obnoxious checkered look. My cockpit fits two minifigs (Han and Chewie). Sorry the windshield isn't realistic to the real ship. I considered many options and in the end this was my best option without copying Lego's Ultimate Collector's windshield design. Inside the cockpit Top view of the inside A view of the boarding door mechanisms and pistons. The door stays closed itself and has just enough resistance when opened to give it a slight hydraulic feel. Luke practicing with his lightsaber while Chewbacca, C-3PO and R2-D2 play on the game board. Obi-Wan sitting on a custom black chair with a headrest I designed. In front of him is a computer console. It was in the movie so I put it in mine. I positioned the gunner seat on its side since technically that's how they sat in the movie. They had to crawl up a ladder, and then faced upwards while gunning down the TIE fighters. While mine doesn't have a latter, at least the gunner is positioned correctly. Here's the medical bed Leia sets Luke in when they rescue him from Cloud City after Vader cuts his hand off. R2 working on fixing the hyperdrive. He's ALWAYS saving the day! Han Standing in front of the boarding door to give you an idea of the height. The whole famous crew standing in front of the ship. Thanks for looking. Please let me know what you think! I really appreciate comments!
