An incident in Belgium . As the French advance on the Quatre-Bras crossroad British and allied troops slow their advance. . The 69th foot see some French enemy They advance and attack the skirmishers The French are too few and fall back The 69th attacks They are supported by allied Brunswick infantry Suddenly they hear trumpets and realize cavalry are charging. "Form square!" French Lancers and Dragoons attack The French are upon them so quickly they can only fire one volley The cavalry surround the men a brave Lancer breaks into the square to seize the colours He cuts down its defender and rides off with his prize With their colours lost the 69th flees
