Christmas Train '09 . The train for my tree this year. . Well it's back folks. From last year when it was just a spawning idea, my BNSF loco with my old Amtrak passenger car and a few cars thrown together at the last minute. To this. Now the train is run by one of my personal favorites. My old red GP9 locomotive I've had this engine built for what I believe is two years now. I've overhauled and updated it several times, and it remains a favorite of my collection. This is paired with a passenger car and several freight cars newly constructed for this holiday train. All the cars, lined up. Lined up, a different angle. Heres that engine. Oddly enough, I removed the hand railings to put them on my new Union Pacific switcher and didn't replace them for these shoits. Although the engine looks much better with hand railings, you'll just have to live without them. The first car is this passenger car. Next a gondola of christmas presents. The Christmas tree car. The horse car. This car carries Santa's sleigh. And the caboose. Yes, I ended this year's train with a caboose. As opposed to last year's Giant Snowman the idea may fall short a little. But I think this build came out better than the snowman. Close up of Santa's sleigh. This is another build I had around ,a href=> last year and perfected it. These horses pull the sleigh. The advantage to putting both the horses and sleigh on the train on different cars is I don't have to devise a harness.
