Heart Of Gold . This MOC is my entry to the The Hitch Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy (THHGTTG) Contest hosted by Mr. 42 himself, Giovanni Seynhaeve! . "... a huge starship, one hundred and fifty metres long, shaped like a sleek running shoe, perfectly white and mind-boggingly beautiful. At the heart of it, unseen, lay a small gold box which carried within it the most brain-wretching device ever conceived, a device which made this starship unique in the history of the galaxy, a device after which the ship had been named The Heart of Gold." --- from chapter 4 of THHGTTG by Douglas Adams "... And of course, the big news story tonight is the sensational theft of the new Improbability Drive prototype ship by none other than Galactic President Zaphod Beeblebrox. And the question everyone's asking is ... has the big Z finally flipped? Beeblebrox, the man who invented the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster, ex-confidence trickster, once described by Eccentrica Gallumbits as the Best Bang since the Big One, and recently voted the Worst Dressed Sentient Being in the Known Universe for the seventh time ... " --- from chapter 12 of THHGTTG by Douglas Adams A walk around the Heart Of Gold Let's Zoom In! One Last View Of the Whole Ship! Commentary: As noted in the beginning of this presentation, the ship is "shaped like a sleek running shoe, perfectly white and mind-boggingly beautiful." That's about the only description of the ship's exterior. This is my loose interpretation of the Heart of Gold. Enjoy! Check out the contest here. Technique in front area inspired by this idea in captaincorn's PirateSubmarine.
