The Burj Al Arab . My entry for the Juvenile Delinquents in the category of "LEGO Architecture." [MOCAthlon 2010] . The Burj Al Arab is a 5-star hotel located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Standing at 1053 feet (321 meters), it is currently the 34th tallest skyscraper in the world. The entire hotel is situated on an artificial island. It is connected to the Jumeirah Beach via a bridge. The Burj Al Arab's design is based on a ship's sail, and iconic of the city of Dubai. It was a particularly difficult design to pull off, since the structure is rounded for the most part. The fact that I was working in micro-scale with mostly rectangular bricks made it even more difficult.
