West Baton Rouge Museum Display . The employees of the West Baton Rouge Museum, in Port Allen, Louisiana, saw the picture of my Louisiana State Capital Building Lego model, and liked it so much, they asked me to build three models for a special museum display. The new Louisiana State Capital Building model is located at: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/170502 . Louisiana's Old State Capitol Building in Baton Rouge. This Gothic structure sits on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River. The Samdbar Plantation house was built in 1837 for Dr. Thomas Philander and Marie Aureline Vaughn as a wedding gift. It was later purchased in 1925 by Charles H. Dameron, who introduced the first steam shovel to levee construction. The French Creole Aillet House was built in 1830. It represents Louisiana's earliest French Creole architectural tradition. This actual house currently sits on the museum grounds.
