Dakar Actros . My model of the Mercedes-Benz Actros 1844 for the Dakar, even though it's performance is more like a trial truck rather than the real one. . My model of the Mercedes-Benz Actros 1844. It features 4wd, all independent supension, lights, remote controle drive and steering and a winch. Powered by 2 xl for driving, 1 m for steering, 1 m for the winch, 2 ir recievers and all pluged to one battery box. This has been by far the creation that has taken me more time to finish, about one month, due to various failed prototypes of gearboxes and the fact that i had to study for my tests. I had planed this model to have a remote controlled gearbox but after several attempts, which couldn't hold the torque of one pf xl, i decided to put two pf xl instead, since i had the suspension and the steering complete. The suspension that i use in these model its the same that its on ATRX's brickshelf with out it, it would take me a long time to do something like that. It has a 1:5 gear reduction in the drive train with the 94 mm wheels, the winch has a 1:3 gear reduction, the steering has a 1:12 gear reduction with clutch. I use two ir recivers at the same channel for two reasons one because it give more power to the two xl, and two because i only have one remote control. video brickshelf
