Futuron Mecha Patrol . This is my entry for the 2010 MOC Olympics "Beat the Judge!" The category is Law Enforcement Mech. . This is the LBM-77c "Old School", an 11 mt tall law enforcement humanoid mech employed by Futuron Security to quash the recent spree in criminal activity in the LW-Lss sector. It's armed with retractable blasters on its hands and retractable vibro-blades on its forearms. A PR-24thousand, a beatanite tonfa-style club, is held in the left side holster. A high power laser cutter handgun is held on the right side holster. These basic weapons can be used to deal with the most common threats. In fact, displaying the weapons is often enough to discourage criminals. The "Old School" is also equipped with a stasys pod for apprehended criminals. Sometinmes, when more firepower is needed, it uses a mk4.2 Smith&Wolbgorn semi-automatic shotgun. Just like human-sized shotguns, this weapon's mags can be loaded with a stunning variety of ammo, from explosive to piercing to wide spread, etc. The mech is equipped with an extra mag on its back, check the rapid reload! The "Old School" can host a Futuron officer in safety and comfort inside its chest. The cockpit is so deep in the mech that it opens by actually splitting the upper body in two. The LBM-77c can also equip non-lethal weapons to deal with your everyday petty criminals. Let's see a RR (Reconstructed Record, a simplified mix of simulation and a real event) against a Blacktron PCBM15 "Scoundrel" robbing mech. The Scoundrel is a fast paced quad with agile, flexible arms. It's armed with a laser cutter on top and a blaster under the mech's head. In a crowded area, it can rob civilans at a rate of 64 LPM (loots per minute) It can stash huge amounts of stolen goods in his back storage The back storage is designed to be quickli retrofitted with thrusters and shot off-world on its own for recover. When confronted, the Scoundrel can still try an escape on its extremely fast legs The Old School can deploy its Mecha Bolas to immobilize the Scoundrel. The Bolas are effective agains most walkers, depending on their size. The suspect still tries to escape on foot! The LBM can now use his net thrower. Aim carefully, you only have one shot... Gotcha! Ooops! We better stop now, we wouldn't want to risk the Officer to revoke his consent. Three systems in this sector already outlawed filming cops, and we are kind of allergic to jail time. The method seems quite effective since the criminal doesn't look so smug anymore. Still, he's quite pale for a healthy person... Time to stash him in the stasys pod to bring him -ahum- safely downtown. Stasys pod sealed. End of reconstrucion Full MOC. Despite the coolness, no difficult techniques were used: it's all built on a very simple ExoForce-style cockpit, using mostly Bionicle limbs and hips. The Mechs The figs. Do you like my restyling of the Futuron uniforms? I simply changed the right arm and the belt to white. I also have a red and a yellow one coming :) Note #1: This thig is so freaking playable and full of gadgets I just couldn't stop taking pics! It's been a long time since I actually enjoyed PLAYING with a MOC... I love this. Note #2: off topic, I don't know how many of you are Americans, but guys I'm baffled at what's happening there. Since 9/11 you've been losing civil rights faster than hair! It won't be long before you'll find yourselves wandering down the street thinking "What the hell happened to my constitutional rights?", only you won't have the right to say it out loud... Note #3: here's a non-required LINK to the MOC Olympics Side-Game "Beat the Judges!" Note #4: This wa inspired by a phrase Crimso Giger said on his own Futuron Mechanical Monster: "Who said that Futuron guys were kindly awaiting to get killed by Blacktron ?" Who indeed? DON'T DO DRUGS! Ok guys, beat this if you can! Comments are welcome :)
