Pagani Zonda R . Let me introduce you to the Italian hottest sport car: the Pagani Zonda R.
PS: I know it isn't studless, but I preferred this technique to realize some details, e.g. the front trunk. I also realized a studless trunk and another with bricks but they are too thick. . THE REAL CAR
Pagani is an Italian manufacturer that produces handmade sport cars all named Zonda. The Zonda F is the most known street version and was born in 2005. It's equipped with a 7291cc engine that produces 602HP. In 2009 Pagani decided to realize an extreme version of this car, conceived for race tracks only: then the Zonda R was born. It is equipped with an Mercedes-Benz AMG V12 6 liters engine that amazingly produces 750 HP. As all of Pagani's cars, the Zonda R is completely handmade using the best quality materials such as carbon for the chassis and top performance mechanical components. In june 2010 this car scored the new world record on the Nurburgring race truck in the category "Race cars derived from street cars", finishing in 6' 47". Let's take a look at my LEGO version of this awesome car. I had a lot of fun designing and building it, and a lot of headaches studying some details and shapes. As you already know, italian designers are known for using a lot of curves and taking care to the smallest detail; the shape of this car is full of smooth curves and aggressive details, not so easy to reproduce with bricks! Here you are some pictures of my job.
The scary front has an arrow shape with massive air intakes on the front and on the hood, that make the car looking like a war airplane.
From the side view you can see another air intake on the door. The car is fully black carbon with a yellow stripe all over the side and a green-white-red pattern on the top, representing the Italian Flag colors.
Front lights and rear mirrors have a particular tear form.
The roof has another air intake on the front; in the back, on the sides, you can see a particular small air intake and the huge rear spoiler that avoids the car to take off.
The steering wheel is full of instruments.
Let's talk about the rear. As you can see on the real photos (see the official website mentioned above), the rear is composed by a thin curvy line very hard to reproduce with bricks! So I decided to use hoses, I think I obtained a quite good result. Also you can see the 4-mufflers, one of the trademarks of every Pagani.
The roof ends with a smooth curve; I choosed a transparent color so you can see part of the engine.
Some random shots, interiors and details.
Finally the detailed engine and suspensions. I removed the trunk for shooting this pics.
I hope you had fun looking at this MOC. Please rate and comment, I'll be glad to know your opinions. See you next MOC!!
