A Spooker spooked! . My entry in Mister Bones' Halloween contest. Lets follow two trick or treaters on their quest for candy, and where it will take them... . October 31st 1998 Little Bobbie and Lizzie McAlister headed out like most little boys and girls do on that dark night for a quest of candy. This year they are both old enough to out alone. Feeling proud and responsible the two start walking along the street, knocking on doors, eagerly muttering the cliche saying "trick or treat" and then reaping in the goodies. After about an hour of trick or treating they come to an apartment of a friend of theirs, Calvin Francis. As they knock on his door, Calvin comes out into the lamp lit street and is startled to meet a little knight and a witch! Trick or Treat! He nervously fills up their pockets with candy and gives them both an ice cream cone then runs inside and slams the door. Lizzie and Bobbie are walking back to the house, conversing in low tones about the night's adventure. Little did they know that the adventure was far from over... They are walking when all of a sudden a head appears above the tombs before them. Lizzie's shriek pierces the still night air as they see it is a skeleton head! Bobbie grabs Lizzie's hand and together they run out of the graveyard, careless of the lost candy and back to the house. The prankster Derik walks back through the graveyard feeling triumphant, laughing at the two stupid little twerps who just peed their pants, when suddenly a dark ominous feeling of dread covers the graveyard like a thick blanket. The silence is deafeningly unbearable. Derik slowly begins to feel nervous and quickens his pace. As he passes the grave of one Timothy McAlister he hears a noise and turns sharply. To his utter horror, an apparition appears in the tree, wailing a low pithed unearthly groan. Derik tries to scream in terror and even tries to run but he finds himself a mute with feet stuck to the ground as if grown there. The specter looms toward him uttering an evil dirge that makes sends shiver up and down Derik's body. As it floats closer Derik is able to see the bloodshot eyes and hear the words in the dirge. "Derik Farham, thou thinkest thou hast spooked the young couple tis true listen closely for what I say is from Timothy to you. Leave them be, trouble them not if thou dost I will come again. Thou wilt think twice about what thou has got when I visit again thou shalt be not sane! Then as quickly as it had come the messenger was gone. Needless to say that after that Derik was a very good boy and never troubled Lizzie and Bobbie again. The End Or is it... The Build! This creation was an entry for Mr. Bones Halloween contest. It had to be on an 8x8 base. To all those who took the 8x8 base and put a 48x48 baseplate on top of that, I say you are only cheating yourself. Doing it strictly on 8x8 is much harder. I chose this contest because it would challenge me and hopefully make me a better and more experience builder. And indeed it did. The First Level! To those who are wondering this is incredibly fragile. You will notice the windows on the far right are a little out of proportion. This is due to the fact that it is a pain to put them back together after they fall over. Like all the other condescending adults this one feigns mock horror at seeing two scary trick or treaters that look suspiciously to be Lizzie and Bobbie from down the street! This is probably one of my favorite heads. The simplicity is the best part. I meant to put a vase in the right to cover up the pin but unfortunately the idea was forgotten. The Second Level! Those faces crack me up. Especially with the ice cream plopped on the floor like that. Note: the skeleton head on a stick is a prank. I clipped it on to the scene with the brown modified tile but it is mainly for a picture facing the grave stone with the prankster holding the head in the background. The Third Level! Stereotypical grave yard scene. Graves, dead grass, dead tree and a ghost. The bully just looks like a bully doesn't he? Skull on a sweatshirt? Yeah! The shot of the ultimate spooker! This glow in the dark ghost was ideal for this contest. I was a little surprised no one else had the idea of the most classic LEGO Halloween element ever. Tsk tsk. Also notice the Voldemort head. The bottom scene was the main scene to this MOC. I derived the story and background plot from that. Yes this is all on 1 8x8. You can see the different scenes in the story. This creation is about 5 times more fragile than it looks. Getting the levels to be aligned correctly was very frustrating. However completed and photographed it is-- was so I am not complaining. Thank you Mr. Bones for the great contest. I understand the work and stress involved. This really stretched me and I had a lot of fun with it. ~Blake
