Why?
932 Cargo Ship . This is the 932 Heavy Cruiser from the classic space fleet . After browsing some other creations here I thought I'd see what sort of potential the 928 had for a double width cabin, i.e. sufficient to house two pilots side by side. I started with the 928X and first isolated the cabin from the main hull, then separated them: once that was done I cut one wall off the main cabin and put in an additional 4 studs width: then it was a matter of filling in. LDD has almost no transparent flat pieces, so I improvised some side on windows for the greenhouse at the back of the ship and double up the screens at the front. Once the outline of the cabin was done I dragged the wing sections back, thus: then filled in the gaps, giving me a huge open cargo space without spoiling the proportions of the ship I was at somewhat of a loss with what to do with that space when I had a eureka moment - I removed the third crewman from the back (what was he doing there anyway?) and ended up with a clear 18x10 cargo space - I added some barriers to protect the pilots from sliding objects and cleaned up the nose a bit and now have a highly useful cargo ship.
