Terran Battlecruiser, Death's Head squadron . Behemoth-class battlecruiser orbiting Stygion IV. This MOC was built for Matthew Bliss' battlecruiser competition, as well as of course as a homage to Starcraft... . There's some awesome large scale battlecruiser MOCs out there so rather than trying to compete with those (and failing), I thought I'd build a midi-scale version, sort of like TLG's midi-scale Star Destroyer. Now that's a match up I'd like to see... This battlecruiser fought with distinction against the Zerg during the Brood War. When the Terran Dominion were routed during the final battle over Char, battlecruisers from Alpha and Epsilon squadrons were instructed to hold the line long enough to allow Arcturus Mengsk and high-ranking officers to escape. Both squadrons were decimated, but the few ships that survived from each formed the 'Death's Head' squadron, marked by their distinctive colourscheme and skull emblem. In an unusual exception to Dominion military discipline, Emperor Mengsk allowed them to retain the new livery. I for one would be excited if Starcraft were to be become a Lego licensed theme at some point, unlikely though it may be. So I tried to make this MOC one that might fit in such a theme. Extra defense lasers are mounted either side of the hangar bay doors. Which have a big skull on them, by way of saying 'Keep out!' Play feature alert! See that trans-yellow gun barrel mounted under the hammerhead? Pressing on the middle of the tail section activates the light-up Yamato cannon! Boom. I think my 4 year-old son likes this better than any of my other MOCs for that reason alone.
