Old Central Fire Station . . Old Central Fire Station This Cafe Corner Compatible MOC is modeled on the Central Fire Station in Rochester, MN which was built in 1898 and was used until 1930, it no longer exists. It was located on the south side of Fourth Street and South Broadway facing north directly on Broadway. Made the Brick Town Talk More information below these photos Some pictures from the shows Historical photographs of the real building: One on the design challenges I met was the four faced clock tower, I am very happy with my running four LEGO clock solution. So you can imagine how thrilled I am today (3/7/2011) to learn that the four faced Seth Thomas clock has been restored to running condition! The 1898 Central Fire Station's clock tower stands today at Mayo Civic Center. Central Fire Station clock working again http://www.rochestermn.gov/departments/mayor/newsreleases/2009/Central%20Fire%20Station%20Clock.pdf I went to Brickworld 2009 one of the many things that happened there was LEGO introduced the Fire Brigade 10197 set The Cafe Corner modular houses had become very popular in TexLUG (they are even more popular now!) and I knew that Fire Brigade would be very popular. So I come up with the idea to build the Central Fire Station it needed to be older than 1932. Google searches turned up Rochester's 1898 Central Fire Station, and I really liked it's look.
