Playable Hogwarts . Through all the many generations of Hogwarts Castles that have been produced by LEGO, there were really none that I thought were truly playable on a huge scale. I made this one for my little 9 year-old cousin who is a Harry Potter crazed fan. I deliberately did NOT use tiles on the floors so he could set up scenes he wanted. I also left rooms pretty bare so he could set them up the way he liked. I did make the stairs movable, and the front of the castle swings open in three sections so he could get in and play with all of it. I brought it to his house a week ago and stayed for 10 days. Needless to say he was really bummed when I had to pack it up and bring it home. Hey...I need the parts! . Front walls closed & open. Back full view. I left it open for playability. Long view from above with front walls open. Moving stairs in portrait hall. They do swing all the way across to meet up with other floor. Rickety bridge detail. Built intentionally to be uneven. The roof lifts off for playability. Bridge & trail to Hagrid's. Clock tower pendulum detail. Clock face & corridor. Dumbledore enjoys a courtyard duel. Duel in the courtyard. Great hall feast. Great hall. View into entrance stairs. Windows detail. Moving stairs from below. Moving stairs & portraits. Pendulum & troll. House rooms & potions room. Gryffindor house room. Slytherin house room. Library reading room. Potions room. Never know what you might find hiding under the stairs... See my Big Daddy MOC for more on that.
