Nevodor Troop Transport . The Nevodor class is a slightly above-standard Explorien troop transport. . The Nevodor had a simple design with three sections, cockpit, passengers, and engines. It was not ment for long-range hyperspace travel, as, for exemple the Hermes-class personell freighters. Neither was it one of the lighter combat dropships used in hit and run deployment of commandos. As the size of the ship and mainly the engines suggest, the Nevodor fit right in between the formerly mentioned spacecraft. As well as the personell inside has little or no comforts, the Nevodor is also capable of carrying up to eight or nine at the same time, and to make fast intersystem travel if need be. It is also more heavily shielded and armed, so that when the Nevodor is brought to the scene of battle, it can take the fire it cannot evade. Of course the Nevodor is always deployed in campaigns where more ships and fighting spacecraft will be at hand to protect it. Aside from the troops, the transport section also must contain lifesuuport systems and communications. The cockpit has little comforts for the pilot, but excellent systems control and the finest of Explorien ship technology. For a single pilot to handle the Nevodor is quite a task, and it takes someone of certain experience to man the cockpit. The troops in the transport section can be briefed by their commanders on-ship. As the Explorien discovered during the UFO incursion, the ability to quickly travel between the colonies is vital for survival. Since then, the funding for different kinds of improved transport craft and for upgrading the existing models have been significantly raised.
