Transformers G1 Autobot Skids . Before movie stardom turned him into one half of a 'comedy' double act, Skids was an intelligent and sensitive anthropologist whose hobbies included daydreaming, dimension hopping and going AWOL with cowboy chicks. He was also blue. . So here we have another fully transformable transformer - G1 Skids! Transforms from Autobot theoretician to Honda City Turbo with no removal of parts (apart from the weapons). Skids was the rarest of the original Autobot toys, wh'ch may explain why he hasn't been MOCed before (to my knowledge). He also didn't feature very much in the G1 cartoon, but was developed quite a lot in various Transformers comics. Then for 'Revenge of the Fallen' Michael Bay resurrected the character - as a complete bozo. Fame at any price, eh? This is my first go at using Hero Factory parts in a MOC, and it certainly helps with the look of the arms - although packing them into the car mode was a bit of a headache. The transformation scheme is very close to the original toy, plus extra joints, of course, producing a really nice robot mode. The car mode is not quite as pleasing; I've still not produced an autobot car MOC that I'm completely satisfied with, but I think Skids takes steps in the right direction. Oh look, I have four fingers on each hand. I am truly a work of mechanical genius! Intelligent and sensitive, that's me. Say hello to my BOOMSTICK! Alt mode... Transformation sequence: Transformation starts by unclipping the doors. Next, the rear part of the car folds out and the joints refold to form the legs. The rear wheels fold underneath... ...and the feet flip down to cover them. The legs separate by opening the hip joints, and the front part of the car folds forward. We'll focus on the upper torso now. The front fenders fold back, and the arms rotate out from behind the doors. The windscreen and roof fold behind to make the back of the torso, while the bonnet flips up... ...and swivels to reveal the head. Add the weapons and away you go!
