Lego Jettison (Transforms) . Yet another addition to my Lego transformers. This guy was more of an experiment in fusing Technic/Bionicle and regular Brick elements to get a certain aesthetic. His core body takes pretty heavily from the Hero Factory: Stormer set, but everything else is new. Because of the ball join usage, transformation is interesting yet flexible, and he's always good for posing. . We'll start off with the sci-fi jet mode of his. Tight and angular with three large engines, it looks as impressive as it is.
The bottom mounted gun pod can be detached for use in robot mode, as seen in the main picture. As mentioned, he does transform, in a strange but solid manner.
This is where the fun begins. While the jet is upside-down, take the fore-arms and pull them out, as well as the legs. This will unlock the rest of the jet for transformation. You see the single grey brick between where the legs are right now? that tabs with the single nub on the top cockpit in robot mode, locking it together later.
Now that that's over, pull the legs completely out and rotate the waist 180 degrees. Flip out the wings and the panels they have, and flip the panels around. The wings are on double joints, which we'll make use of in the final step. Pivot down the side thrusters, and then we can open the panels around his head for 'the reveal' in the next step. Detach the weapon.
Here we are! Those double jointed wings should be folded completely around to the back of the bot mode (You'll need to move the arms around), then the side thrusters can be put all the way down as well. Take the side thrusters' fins and twist them to line up with where the wings are tucked, so they look like a single structure for his "jet pack". Fold out the arms now, then fold up the front of the jet into the backpack and use the nub-tab thing that I was talking about to hold it in place. You can now extend the legs, twist the feet around, and open up the white panels around his head and twist his head into position to complete the transformation... whew!
This backpack is rather... large. He balances well though, surprisingly.
He really looks like he means business when he gets his gun!
