Advanced Tripod Invader . An advanced alien tripod walker used for specimen collection. . After purchasing Lego's newest H.G. Wells ripoff I decided to build my own (insult aside, I enjoyed the set and appreciate the amount of creativity that went into it). This walker is most influenced by Starcraft 2's Colossus, but I gave it the right details to fit better into the Alien Conquest theme. I would have liked to use light bley for the primary color, but by now I'm sure it's no mystery which color is most prevalent in my Lego collection. Here's a good shot of the walker from the side, this profile shot shows the elongated and angled head. A soldier's-eye-view of this machine; if you see this you might want to run... A closer view of the head featuring duel cockpit and highly developed triaxial plasma laser; I have no idea what that means, but it's alien technology so who cares! A view of the head from behind, with an ADU soldier and businessman contained in the stasis chambers. This view shows the joints in the leg, nothing special... A final view of another ADU soldier and civilian behind picked up by the walker's tentacles. This was a fun walker to make, but it seems that the things I make with legs keep getting weaker and flimsier: if you imagine an elephant on roller skates hitting it's face on the ground as it's legs spread apart, that's what I dealt with over and over with this thing. Nevertheless it was a different build for me to try and incorporate the raw structure into the exterior of the build, instead of just piling on more and more pieces until it looks clean, and even then I did my best to conceal the technic parts. That being said, I hope you enjoyed it!
