Tinicyti -- an exercise in microbuilding . Me, build in pseudo-micro scale? For shame! .
Welcome to Tinicyti, where I adapt and expand upon ideas from the Lego Master Builder Academy. For this exercise, I took the airport runaway tower, tweaked it a touch to make it a luxury hotel, and then build a city around it. The building with the green sloped roof is the adapted part, and the spaceship in "Adventure Plaza" was part of the kit as well; the rest of the build is all me (for better or worse).
I had originally thought I'd make up some funny backstory to go along with this, but since my posts rarely crack more than 100 looks I'm just not going to bother. I built this in about a week, working in 15-20 minute spurts. Most of the buildings went through at least two versions, except the tallest tower, which is unchanged. The metroline, the high-speed commuter train that runs into the city (that's the big yellow strip of tile supported by blue slopes) was the last thing I added simply because I ran out of ideas and wanted to post something.
The MBA microbuilding kit is pretty nice (again, too much lime green, Lego!) and has some great ideas. I didn't like the airplane model that was to go with the runway -- it was too big.
Just in case you're wondering, yes, I'm probably going to use this for some establishing shots in an upcoming comic. Comment, criticize, do whatever you want. I'm really apathetic about the whole thing.
