Technic Leaf Springs - 2 variations . Forgive me for the main photo . Variation 1 - more realistic, strong, but much bigger chassis= long black liftarm 'leaf'= orange bent liftarms spring= 10L dampened shock absorber connects to axle via= gray piece at the bottom This variation was an improvement on the other (bottom) in that it was more realistic, while building my KAMAZ, It became apparent that pendular suspension is no good for descending stairs, as there is no absorbency of shock, so these dampened shock absorbers on this leaf spring WOULD BENEFIT LARGE TRUCK TRIAL VEHICLES I.E. LORRIES front and back; to show how it's made Notice how the light grey perpendicular axle/pin connectors move closer together as the spring is compressed Variation 2 - not as realistic, has a bit of lateral movement (i.e. forward backward with the car), still quite strong, and a lot smaller than Variation 1 chassis= long black liftarm 'leaf'= white bent liftarms, and red short liftarms spring= 2x yellow 6.5L shock absorber connects to axle via= blue piece at the bottom Variation 2 was built first and is not as realistic, and has a shorter travel distance, but fits into smaller cars, so WOULD BE SUITABLE FOR SMALLER TRUCK TRIAL VEHICLES I.E. (modified) PRODUCTION CARS front and back; to show how it's made, again With two stiff shock absorbers per wheel, if this was used on, say a 1/11 scale (or larger) Range Rover, it would more than support the weight, but I wouldn't try going down stairs, the shocks will bend backwards Please find a way of letting me know if you do use these, I'd be interested to see them in practice ;)
