Boromir of Gondor . The precursor and teaser to my Movie Accurate Fellowship of the Ring MOC. After several months of buying, trading, and perusing and purchasing on BrickLink, I have aquired (and still am maintaining) the most movie accurate Fellowship LEGO can make. Every aspect of this character was examined: Head, hair, legs, arms, torso, utensils and weapons. Only Boromir is complete so far, but the other 8 members of the fellowship are coming soon, with the same depth an accuracy. . Starting with the main figure, he is compared with another image from the movie as far as accuracy. Which begins the analysis of Boromir. FIGURE: The figure represents Boromir SO well compared to the first reference photo above. I am very pleased with the overall look of hte fig. A side view of Boromir holding his shield. Back view, the one you see on Caradhas and in all the arial shots of the Fellowship. Doesn't it totally look like Boromir? HEAD: It was known from day one that the General Madine face would be necessary with some small 'modifications' (like trimming off side burns) for this fig. I traded a Dagger of Time for this baby. The expression is perfect as well as the hair color/style. HAIR: I also knew that I would have to spend the $1.20 + shipping for the new tan 'Dastan' hair for Boromir, but it is the perfect style for the character and reflects Sean Bean's hair color perfectly. TORSO: LEGO does not make a torso with a blue jerkin, open necked with chain mail underneath and gold outlining. So I just decided to use LEGO's closest equivalent, just the chain mail with the gold lining, and the blue 'T' piece and drape over the leg to suggest the idea ofa blue overcoat. ARMS: Simple red arms with the strip of chain mail pictured in the first reference photo complete the torso area and make him much more 'built' looking. ACCESSORIES: The horn (not picured here) was one of my favorite parts, but the black cape he wears through Moria really adds a 'Medieval' feel to the fig. WEAPONS: It took MUCH willpower to modify my new Viking shield, but much less to customize the BrickArms Damien blade to represent Boromir's weapons. I am very pleased with them. Final reference picture of Boromir's sword. I hope you enjoyed what I think is the first fully analysed, movie accurate Boromir on the pages. Only a few more BrickLink orders before the full Fellowship is unveiled. Stay tuned! Don't forget to rate and comment. Go LORD OF THE RINGS!
