Why?
Rescue 5 . The Beast from StuddsVille . Today the new rig for Rescue company 5 was delivered. A 2011 Pierce Quantum with a walk around heavy rescue body. The rig holds all kinds of equipment, like high/ low angle rescue kits, hydraulic and pneumatic tools, hand tools, power tools, saws, cribbing, generators, winches, ALS kits, a cascade system for refilling SCBA bottles and a mass casuaty tent. New to this rig is that all around the rig there are outlet points to hook up all kinds of tools, so the rig has a powerfull engine driven PTO, huge light tower and an air compressor. Due to the rigs immense size it is known to the crews as the big toolbox or the beast. Also new is the FDNY/Seagrave style LED lightbars, and all other emergency lighting is also LED. The toolbox is also available for the Suicide prevention team, and can be sent to places state wide to handle (mass) suicude calls. People to thank: Tom D. Bob K. Alex W. Matt J. James K. Zak O. Bruce B. Cody B. LFM. Thanks for the comments, tips and critics.
