Death Star Board Game . Here's a board game I built! . So I had this idea while I was in the middle of sorting my collection, but I never got around to doing it. Then I got a Heroica set, and all bets were off for at least three months. But I just recently finally built it! Rooms (clockwise): Conference room, control room, chasm, lazor. And here: Throne room, beam-that-sucks-other-ships-in controls, detention room, hangar bay. In the hangar bay, you can go up an imaginary elevator to the room above. The 'figs! This was my favorite part, coming up with a different combination for each. Left to right: Princess Leia, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Chewbacca, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, C-3PO ,R2-D2, Stormtrooper, Royal Guard, Assassin Droid, Grand Moff Tarkin, Death Star Trooper, Darth Vader, Palpatine, R2-Q5. Throughout the Death Star, you will find canisters. In these canisters is helpful stuff. Or not... Roll the die to see what you get. White and black are the most common. Skull means you lose one health. Left to right: Blaster, lightsaber, credits, grappling hook, Stormtrooper armor, cloaking device. *UPDATE* I also added bacta tanks, which are trans. light blue 1x1 round bricks. Player packs. You hold stuff on the grey area, and the red bricks are your health. RULES: Up to four people can play. players choose a character to play as. Playable characters are: Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Palpatine, Grand Moff Tarkin, and the Assassin Droid. Players each have a challenge, which they must complete to win. Luke: rescue Princess Leia and then kill Palpatine. Obi-Wan: shut off the tractor beam, kill Darth Vader, then escape using the Millennium Falcon. Han Solo: rescue Leia then escape. Chewbacca: rescue Leia then escape. Vader: kill Luke and Obi-Wan. Palpatine: kill Luke then return to the throne room. Tarkin: kill one good guy character then fire off the Death Lazor. Assassin Droid: kill two good guy characters. ON YOUR TURN: move your character the number of spaces allotted him (lightsaber characters ten, blaster characters six), perform Fixed Actions , roll to see which Floating Action you may perform, conduct Blaster Fire, then, (if good guy) Alert Guards. Fixed Actions: A Fixed Action is anything that your character does in the game, like activating something or opening a canister. Floating Actions: This means you use the Light Side of the Force.(heal, open doors, push/pull objects.) This means you may move R2-D2 three spaces. *UPDATE* I recently replaced this with a white arrow, which means you may move three extra spaces. This means you may use the Dark Side of the Force. (choke people, push/pull objects, open doors.) This means you may open a door in the same room as you. This means you may move R2-Q5 five spaces. Throughout the rules, you will see the key phrase *their side*. This is a phrase associated with rolling the die. It means that the character trying to do an action in which their success is not guaranteed must roll the die to see if they succeeded. Their side means they must roll a color associated with their morals (white/blue for good guys, red/black for bad guys). Blaster Fire: If you come into a room with enemies in it, those enemies will start shooting at you. Any character firing must roll their side to see if they hit their target. If you are hit, remove one health. Response: The characters that are playable have a higher level of reflexes than normal storm troopers, so if you are hit, you may Respond. Roll your side to avoid the lazor, or if you can use the Force and have a lightsaber, you can deflect it. Roll your side to block the lazor and send it back at the shooter. Lightsaber Combat: What’s the most important part of any Star Wars thing? Lightsaber duels, of course! If you have a lightsaber and you come up to a blaster character, roll your side to instantly kill them. If you come to another character with a lightsaber, roll your side to hit him. Then he does the same, and you continue until one of you is dead. Alert Guards: Good guys have a Noise Level, (blaster characters six, lightsaber characters three), and at the end of your turn you must move an enemy towards you the number of spaces to match your Noise Level.. Crossing the Chasm: You’re running through the Death Star, on you way to rescue the Princess, and you round a corner only to see a deep chasm gaping up at you! Who put that thing there, anyway?! So, what do you do? You jump across it, of course. This is an action movie, remember? Roll your side to cross the chasm safely. If you fail, you lose one health. Equipment: The stuff you find in canisters is called equipment. The equipment available is: blasters (let you take part in Blaster Fire), lightsabers (let you take part in Lightsaber Combat), cloaking devices (if you are a bad guy, these let you move three extra spaces, if you are a good guy, these reduce your Noise Level by two), the grappling hook (allows you to cross the Chasm without rolling), Stormtrooper armor (increases your max health by one and, if you are a good guy, make your noise level zero), and bacta tanks (refill your health). Creds: Also found in the canisters is plenty of dough! Credits can be used to buy equipment. All items can be sold for one less than the price at which they were bought. Blasters—bought for two. Lightsabers—bought for three. Cloaking device—bought for two. Armor—bought for three. Bacta tank—bought for two Grappling hook—bought for four. Princess Leia: After you rescue the Princess, she will follow you around and take part in Blaster Fire with you; but you must keep her alive, or else you lose. Intercom: What if you're a blaster character and you roll "Force"? If this happens, you may move another playable character. You can play a complete turn for them, including Fixed Actions, Floating Actions, and Blaster Fire. Anything that character finds in a canister goes to you. R2-D2 & R2-Q5: When you roll "Move R2-D2", you may move R2 three spaces. He can open doors using the colored panels in the control room. When you open a door, place it in another opening. R2-Q5 can move five spaces, open doors when he comes to them, and when he catches up to a good guy player, that player's Noise Level is six and he cannot move until an enemy comes into the room and fires at him.
