Bumblebee . Loyal scout and brave Autobot warrior. .
After picking up and building Kreo Bumblebee a few months ago, I didn't have much time or ideas to make up my own creation. But just last week, while making a few other creations and extra time on my hands, I went to work on this guy.
For me to somewhat accurately portray the little guy, I went with a design that defines that and something that goes with his name. I'm also lucky to find that I have so many yellow and black bricks after years of collecting and used those to give him his Animated/Camaro look.
Aside from trying to get the colors right, I wanted find good use for his KreO parts. I felt that it is only right to use them for this particular MOC, I mean he came with them after all. T-Pieces give him some needed shoulder and leg articulation, while I used the 2x1 hinge joints to make his elbows and another certain feature. I wanted to give Bee some hands like I like to do, but I didn't have enough room. Instead, his hands are replaced by his signature stingers which use the same joints his elbows use, so that I could give him that feature I was building to.
The stingers can be flipped up and down. Unflipped, his arms are given that "Legends Class" look, but I put in a piece that makes them look like hand blasters...for blasting.
Flipping up the hands reveals his signature "stingers", which also make good Battle blades for melee combat. This was my most favorite part to build, because gimmicks are just plain fun.
As for the legs, I wanted to try something different. 1x1 hooks were used for the knees, and for ankle poseability, holed 2x2's with connectors. The feet designs were sorta movie-style-inspired (not so much his movie-style), and had to give use 3x2 bricks to hold everything in that area. The knees disconnect a little easy, but I didn't really have a better idea for this part of the moc, but I'm happy with it.
